I am a long-time fan of the Grateful Dead and Phish yet never fully appreciated the other bands that typically (rightfully or not) get placed under the "jam band" umbrella. Additionally, I have always sought out and embraced any other performers that affect me on a spiritual level regardless of style.

On a trip back from a conference in San Antonio not too long ago, my boss turned me on to Split Lip Rayfield and I haven't looked back. Much to my enjoyment SLR is playing two shows in my hometown of Austin in March! Here is a recent review from Michael Vilensky of Jambands.com -- this review says it all.
